If your idea of a perfect summer’s day involves sunshine, street food, and live music, then you’re in luck. A brand new three day street food festival is landing at Gunwharf Quays from August 1st to 3rd, and it promises to be a feast for the senses.

This exciting new event brings together the best of global street food with a strong showing from local food heroes. From spicy Indian curries to buttery lobster rolls, there’s something to tempt every palate. And with the iconic Portsmouth harbourfront as the backdrop, this is set to be one of the tastiest weekends of the summer.

“We’re excited to be launching our first-ever Street Food Festival this summer,” said Yvonne Clay, Centre Director at Gunwharf Quays. “The British Street Food Awards have been a hit here for the past five years, so we know there’s a real appetite for these kinds of events. With our harbourfront location and a line-up of local live music, we’re creating the perfect laid-back summer vibe.”

What’s On the Menu?

The festival will take over The Plaza and run from 12 pm to 9 pm on Friday (August 1st) and Saturday (August 2nd), and 12 pm to 6 pm on Sunday (August 3rd). Here’s just a taste of who’ll be cooking up a storm:

  • FISH (Portsmouth) – Locally famous for their indulgent lobster rolls

  • Riddle & Finn’s Oysters (Brighton) – Fresh, elegant seafood from the Sussex coast

  • Woosabi (Southampton) – Creative and flavour-packed sushi rolls

  • Oh Babu – Award-winning Indian street food with bold spices and big flavour

  • Nopalito – Colourful, authentic Mexican dishes that bring the fiesta

And of course, no food festival would be complete without dessert! Keep an eye out for sweet treats from Waffle Wands and Sweet n Delish, guaranteed to satisfy every sugar craving.

Live Music & Laid-Back Vibes

Adding to the atmosphere will be live performances from local Portsmouth artists, bringing a soundtrack of summery tunes to your foodie adventure. Whether you’re a seasoned street food lover or just in the mood to try something new, this festival is the perfect excuse to explore, indulge, and support brilliant local and regional vendors.
