A hint of culinary intrigue is drifting through Portsmouth, as the team behind Hoggies Hog Roast confirms they are already working on a second venue just months after their successful debut on Marmion Road.

The Southsea restaurant, which opened its doors in September 2025, has quickly become one of the area’s most talked-about newcomers. Now, the three founders say expansion plans are already well underway, even if the exact location remains firmly under wraps.

A spokesperson for Hoggies said the team is “already deep into the design process” for the new branch.

“We are working closely with a local architect and our project manager to begin planning the works,” they confirmed. “Opening a second Hoggies site was something discussed long before we launched the first. We’ve been blown away by how quickly the Marmion Road restaurant has taken off. We never expected to be searching for new premises so soon, but we’re excited to bring the concept to another part of Portsmouth.”

Since opening two months ago, Hoggies has enjoyed a strong reception from Southsea diners looking for something different in the city’s food scene.

“As we were bringing a new idea to Portsmouth’s eateries, we hoped it would do well, but the response has gone far beyond our expectations,” the spokesperson added. “We’ve quickly become a popular stop in Southsea, and we’re hoping the same energy follows us to our next location.”

While the details of the new site remain a carefully kept secret, Hoggies has confirmed the menu will mirror its Southsea offer, featuring slow-roasted chicken and pork, hearty burrito bowls, breakfast plates, and a range of dishes designed to appeal to all appetites.

With design work already underway, the new venue is expected to open in early 2026, adding yet another flavourful chapter to Portsmouth’s booming independent food scene.
